Hope for Delilah

When an SPCA Tampa Bay staff member found Delilah, she was exhausted and hungry.

"I was at my son's football game and she came right up to us and laid down". Dirty and covered in fleas, the pup appeared to have been on the streets for a while. "She barely made it up stairs when we got her home", Amber, a dedicated Animal Welfare Associate here at SPCA, says. Amber and her family gave the dog a bath, food and a comfy bed for the night. The next day, well-rested and newly named Delilah was brought to work with Amber. As part of our policy, Delilah was transferred from SPCA Tampa Bay to Pinellas County Animal Services for a "stray hold", to make sure she didn't have owners that were looking for her.

Once it was clear that there was no family searching for Delilah, she was Transferred back to SPCA where she was spayed and micro chipped to prevent her from becoming separated from her future family.

Delilah was on the adoption floor for one month before her sweet face and over-sized ears caught the eyes and stole the heart of her new mother. Delilah now has the happy ending and loving forever home she deserves.
