Locally Owned Company Gives Back To Their Community

Starting in 1905 as a small Cuban coffee and sandwich shop in Tampa's Ybor City, Columbia Restaurant was known by locals for their Cuban sandwiches. Now, after nearly 114 years since opening, the restaurants are still family owned! Learn more about their interesting history here.

Today with seven locations across Florida, The Columbia Restaurant Group gives back to the communities that helped them grow. Their annual Community Harvest Program gives customers the opportunity to vote for their favorite local non-profit each September. Columbia Restaurant Group then donates 5% of their profit from each dining check, in the form of gift certificates to charitable organizations chosen by the guests. These gift certificates help our organization by supporting chance drawings and give-a-ways. Tickets purchased for these prizes directly benefit the animals at SPCA Tampa Bay.

SPCA Tampa Bay is honored to once again be included among those organizations! When you dine at their Sand Key/ Clearwater Beach location, you will see SPCA Tampa Bay on the ballot. Please vote for the homeless pets in your community so we can continue to be a part of Columbia’s Community Harvest program. If you visit any of their other (5) locations (excluding the airport location) you will see a blank space on the ballot for “write-in” votes and we encourage you to vote for SPCA Tampa Bay at these locations as well.

Last year, through their Community Harvest Program, Columbia donated more than $227,000 to local non-profits organizations in Florida. Since starting this program in 1998, they have given more than $2.4 million to Florida non-profits!
Huge thank you to our community for your continued support and to Columbia Restaurant Group for this opportunity.
